Photographer LuAnn T. Palazzo In National Parks Centennial Art Exhibit

The US National Parks Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016 and in honor of this event, they are sponsoring a juried art exhibition. ''Find Your Park: National Park Service Centennial Art Exhibition'' opens at the Patchogue-Watch Hill Ferry Terminal in Patchogue on July 31 and runs through September 5.

Islip Photographer LuAnn T. Palazzo is proud to announce that two of her pieces will be part of this show. One of them, ''Saguaro Puddle'' (shown above) was taken at Saguaro National Park in Arizona, and the other is ''Moonrise at the Grand Canyon,'' taken at the Grand Canyon National Park.

The reception is Thursday, August 25 from 6–8pm and is open to the public.

The world presents Holly Gordon with infinite palettes of color, and sometimes the digital darkroom takes her vision far beyond photography as we know it. Venturing into the digital darkroom has expanded the fluidity of her work as well as her innovative universe. This exhibition, FLORAbundance, combines her creativity as both painter and photographer. Although she stopped painting with a brush twenty years ago, the two mediums are reunited through lens and technology.

Painter Anthony D'Avino in Group Show

''The Art of Discovery'' / RJD Gallery, 90 Main Street, Sag Harbor / Now through June 7, 2016

Four artists—Amanda Bellino, Anthony D’Avino, Miles Jaffe, and Sarupa Sidaarth—will have their works exhibited this spring at RJD Gallery in Sag Harbor, New York, all part of an effort to raise funds to combat domestic violence. May 14 to June 12, the gallery will host The Art of Discovery, featuring about 30 compositions ranging from D’Avino’s super realistic paintings of toys to the ornamental faces found in Sidaarth’s latest works.

Photographer LuAnn T. Palazzo Honored at Islip Town Hall

Local photographer LuAnn T. Palazzo (on the right, wearing purple) was recognized today by the Town of Islip as the National Women's History Month Artist. She was honored at Town Hall along with other outstanding local women. Her solo exhibition is currently on display in the Town Hall Second Floor Rotunda until April 13.
