Honoring Long-time Patrons of the Arts Carolyn and Rich Dahab, County Legislator Steve Flotteron, and Islip Town Historian George Munkenbeck

The Islip Arts Council's Annual Directors' Reception was held on Thursday evening, December 13, 2018 in the newly restored Brookwood Hall Ballroom in East Islip. We honored long-time Patrons of the Arts Carolyn and Rich Dahab, County Legislator Steve Flotteron, and Islip Town Historian George Munkenbeck.

The evening began with a cocktail hour accompanied by the music of the Harmonaires from Bay Shore High School. The ballroom was decorated for the holidays with bright lights and evergreen wreaths, and the tables were adorned with flowers from Heather Doherty of Variety Florists in Bay Shore, along with gifts from the Islip Art Council and Museum Gift Shop. The catering for the evening was provided by Marconi Manor Caterers, and fresh oysters and clams were offered by Keenan Boyle (Master Oyster Shucker Extraordinaire). The venue was filled with the many arts patrons who came to pay tribute to the evening's guests of honor.

Lynda Moran, Executive Direcor of the Islip Arts Council, filled the role of Mistress of Ceremonies introducing dignitaries such as Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Legislator Tom Cilmi, and Town Councilman Jim O'Connor. They presented awards and proclamations to all honorees.

Committee Chairwoman of this very successful event was Phyllis Ozarin, past Secretary of the Islip Arts Council Board of Directors.
