Creating Colorful Holiday Cards with Painter Ward Hooper
The Islip Arts Council is proud to offer the online workshop Creating Colorful Holiday Cards taught by Painter Ward Hooper.
Ward Hooper's paintings have been exhibited in juried shows throughout Long Island. His numerous awards and honors include the Peacock Award from the Chelsea Center in Muttontown, NY, for his painting in the watercolor category. His work has been featured in Watercolor Artist magazine and his book Parallel Perspectives the Brush/Lens Collaboration with photographer Holly Gordon appears in the Dec. Artists Magazine.
After graduation with a degree in Graphic Design from the New York City College of Technology, CUNY, and attending the Art Students League Ward's career included over thirty years as art director and award winning design director for the J.C.Penney Company and he was also Vice President of the design firm Coleman, LiPuma, Siegel and Morrill.
Ward has been on the teaching staff of the Art League of LI for twelve years.His watercolors are in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
A fun four-session workshop, students will follow along step by step instructions using watercolor, colored markers and color pencils for each card. Students will create two or more cards each session. Supplies needed: plain cards and envelopes, paint brush, watercolors, colored markers, and color pencils.
