ABOUT THE ARTIST
''I am representational artist who focuses on the natural beauty that surrounds us. I love working in many different mediums including watercolor, oil, acrylic, and pastel, with a little printmaking thrown in now and then! When the weather permits, I enjoy working en plein air, especially in oils. Growing up, I worked in a small boatyar downed by my parents on Long Island’s south shore. My dad & I were avid bird watchers. This love of the marine environment and birds continues to this day. Several years ago, my husband and I renovated my childhood home on a canal in Suffolk County, L.I. and I were able to design my dream studio during the construction.
Teaching is another of my passions, and I do demonstrations for many art organizations. For more than 18 years, I’ve taught various media at the Islip Art Council's School of Cultural Arts, while also exhibiting at national and regional juried shows, galleries and outdoor festivals.
Currently, I am a regional representative for the American Society of Marine Artists. I served as the 3rd Vice President of the prestigious Salmagundi Club, as well as on their Board for 12 years and was former chair of their Art Committee (the 1st woman to hold this position in the club’s 135+ year history). I’m an elected member of the Pastel Society of America, Audubon Artists, American Artists Professional League, and the Salmagundi Club. I am also a Signature Artist of the North East Watercolor Society, and the Baltimore, Rhode Island, and Missouri Watercolor Societies.
My work is represented by Gallery North in Setauket, LI, Trapani Art & Frame, Manhasset, LI, and Courtyard Gallery in Mystic, CT.''
