Darlene Blaurock is a Mixed Media Artist/Visual Artist and Art Educator living in Wantagh, New York.
She has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and an MFA from LIU CW Post. Her work has been shown both locally and nationally, including at the Heckscher Museum of Art, where she won an Award of Merit for 3 of her paintings in the Long Island Biennial exhibition in 2023.
Recently, Darlene was selected to be a resident artist at The Art League of Long Island.
Her Mixed Media Paintings are a combination of the real and the imagined. Collages are created with iconography and symbolism combined with acrylic & watercolor paint, found objects and neo-pastels. Her layers of materials from opaque to translucent create depth and texture in her works of art. She references biblical themes, pop culture and history. Each piece has a variety of processes/materials and eclectic techniques with different themes while the methodology is consistent.
