Join Islip Arts for the second annual PLEINATHON, An All-Day Plein Air Painting Marathon
OUTDOOR PAINTING I DEMOS I LECTURES I PLEIN AIR ART EXHIBIT
Grab your favorite brushes, paint, and other materials as we paint the beautiful landscapes of Connetquot River State Park Preserve, a 3,473-acre state park that is celebrating its 100th anniversary along with all NYS Parks.
Pick your favorite spot (or two) to paint and connect with nature. Illustrated maps of the park showing suggested locations will be given out upon sign in. (Please note that some of the sites will require hiking, but there are other beautiful spots just a short walk away from the entrance.
There will be two FREE workshops throughout the day for participants to jump into.
PLEINATHON SCHEDULE:
8AM - Check-in
10AM - Intro to Plein Air Painting Workshop / If you are unsure where to begin, there will be a morning class specifically offered to provide insight and basic techniques so you can get a better understanding of landscape painting. This workshop is free of charge and sign up will begin at 8am.
1PM - Golden Artist Lecture / Take a break from painting and listen to a free lecture about Golden Artist Paints. You can also get a free sample packet sent to your home.
