This AARP sponsored exhibition complements IAC's Annual Veteran's Wellness Art Exhibition, which focuses on bringing awareness to PTSD and mental health. All artwork honors U.S. Veterans, or the subject is a US Veteran.
We invite the public to attend the special double opening reception of the Veterans Wellness Project Exhibition and the Friends and Family of Veterans Exhibition, Friday, November 10, from 5-7 pm, at the Islip Arts Council Gallery. The installation is expansive and quite impressive.
You'll be treated to a USO type show with The Golden Girls, a quartet that is like the Andrews Sisters. There will also be several tables of veterans services available.
In addition, John Melillo, disabled Vietnam Veteran (retired) and East End Artist, will make a special presentation at the reception.
