The Islip Arts Council is sponsoring a collaborative public art project - the Community Heart Mosaic Fundraiser - as part of the national celebration of America's 250th Anniversary.
This project invites community members to participate in the creation of a large-scale mosaic symbolizing unity, diversity, and shared history. All 6" x 6" tiles will be created by community participants.
Choose which part of the Mosaic wall you want to decorate and use our gallery workshop space to let your imagination take you. Bring your preferred materials for your tile or use the gallery supplies.
Materials such as assorted paper, acrylic paint, junk jewelry, mixed media, shells, and more will be available for use.
Choose either a Thursday evening or afternoon workshop to decorate your tile. Adults, teens, and kids welcome!
