IAC and the Central Islip Civics Council, along with the Suffolk County Youth Bureau present work from over 200 young artists attending the Central Islip School District.

The Youth Empowerment Art Project encourages students to paint a self portrait and then create a poem which features “I am” statements to accompany their artwork. The program began in 2017 as a way for students to express themselves in positive ways.

Founded in 1974, the Islip Arts Council is dedicated to leadership, advocacy, and excellence in the arts. Our goal is to present, produce, and promote culturally responsive, high quality programs in varied artistic disciplines for our diverse Long Island community.
