I am a representational artist who focuses on the natural beauty surrounding us. I love working in many different mediums including watercolor, oils, acrylics, and pastels with a little printmaking thrown in now and then. When the weather permits, I enjoy working en plein air, especially in oils.
Growing up, I worked in a small boatyard on Long Island’s south shore, owned by my parents. My dad and I were avid bird watchers. My love of the marine environment and birds continues to this day. Several years ago, my husband and I renovated my childhood home on a canal in Suffolk County, L.I., and I was able to design my “dream studio” during the construction.
Teaching is another passion and I perform demonstrations for many art organizations. I’ve taught various media for the Islip Arts Council along, and I have exhibited at national and regional juried shows, galleries and outdoor festivals.
I am a regional representative for the American Society of Marine Artists. I served as the 3rd Vice President of the prestigious Salmagundi Club, and was on their Board for 12 years. I was the former chair of their Art Committee and the first woman to hold this position in the club’s 135+ year history. I’m an elected member of the Pastel Society of America, Audubon Artists, American Artists Professional League, and the Salmagundi Club. I am also a Signature Artist of the North East Watercolor Society, and the Baltimore, Rhode Island and Missouri Watercolor Societies.
