Yu Hanyu is a contemporary Chinese painter born in 1964. He is known primarily as a landscape painter and calligrapher. Yu Hanyu’s process includes reproducing on rice paper the effects of oil painting by combining traditional materials such as heavy ink and cinnabar and dust gold pigments.
His works have been shown in many exhibitions in China and abroad, and are written about in both domestic and global art newspapers, as well as featured in a TV series in China on fine arts and artistic observation.
A solo exhibition by Yu Hanyu was hosted by Islip Arts Council in 2019. Visitors experienced the vast beauty of the Tibetan landscape through his large-scale illustrations, sketches, photography, and film.
