On Thursday, December 8th, at 7pm, the Islip Arts Council celebrated three distinguished honorees at the 2022 Annual Directors Reception - Senator Phil Boyle, Christine O'Malley, and Debra Cavanagh. These leaders have supported the arts and advocated for IAC's culturally responsive, high-quality programs throughout the year.
The evening began in a heated tent behind the gallery with a hospitality reception, where delectable selections of food and beverages were served. This included freshly shucked Great South Bay oysters paired with varietal wines, and meats and cheeses on a charcuterie table.
The guests were then directed into the gallery, where a Members art exhibition was on display, entitled ''Small Works.'' The Artisan Gift Shop and the Long Island Author's Group Book Store were also open.
Later in the evening, everyone moved into the courtyard where culinary specials were passed, accompanied by spectacular entertainment. A formal welcome of the honorees was made, and many generously donated raffles were awarded.
Guests had a wonderful time, immersed in a variety of arts and entertainment and the warm hospitality of the Islip Arts Council. It wa a wonderful event, all in support of the arts at IAC.
