The cloudy weather didn't stop locals from heading to West Main Street in East Islip. The East Islip Chamber of Commerce held a street fair on Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The family-friendly event spanned from Carleton Avenue to Harrison Avenue as vendors and sponsors filled the streets.
Sponsors for the event included Mosquito Joe, Rainbow Restoration, Lee's Auto Body and Allstate. Keller Williams Realty of East Islip was the DJ sponsor. Food truck sponsors included F&C Painting, Prism Specialties and Russ Knoth's Exterior Designs.
The chamber of commerce held a raffle in front of the American Legion of East Islip.
Participants could win a $100 Lottery Board, sponsored by Stephen Foray of Allstate. A lucky winner was announced at 4 p.m.
Vendors at the fair consisted of food trucks, baked goods, jewelry, arts and crafts, plant sale and many more. East Islip High School students were the artists for children's face painting.
Additionally, the Islip Arts Council provided a sketch session, where participants did a gesture drawing. Artists sat with their drawing pads in hand, in front of two individuals posing in front of a rural background.
