Nutcracker Ballet Performance Dec 10 / 2pm
The Nutcracker, Opus 71, is an 1892 two-act classical ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, set on Christmas Eve at the foot of a Christmas tree in a child's imagination. The Nutcracker is loosely based on the 1816 E.T.A. Hoffmann fantasy story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” which is about a girl who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King.
For this Open Call, Islip Arts Council is seeking works related to the story - its characters, plot, scenery, and theme. This Open Call is free and open to all ages. All work must be ready to hang. Work must not exceed 70" x 70" inches.
